Abstracted Seascape photographs - Cornwall
These images are seascapes, abstracted from photographs. The central one in each line is a photo, while the outliers are 'altered'.
I'm not going into details of how I altered the
photographic images, but the aim is to create slabs of colour that take the essence of the tones that the
original seascape offered.
I used techniques that weren't automatic, and needed judgement from me as to how the pictures would come out.

I got the idea from much landscape painting that's been done in Cornwall
recently, as well as abstract expressionists such as Mark Rothko. But the idea is more abstract impressionism.
I start with a real landscape and abstract it to its essentials.
